What should i carry my stuff in?

Should i carry my books and folders in a big tote like this: http://www.etsy.com/listing/30775665/red-and-multi-floral-double-strap-big (Not exactly this because i don't like this) or in a backpack for high school? Idk about backpacks because I think they are childish..?

Trust me, backpacks are still used. You just have to find a cool one. My older brother is taking Arts, Humanities, and Chinese right now in college. He uses an old beat up backpack, and to us it's cool. But everyone calls them bags, not backpacks, backpacks is the childish name for them, which is possibly what makes you think they're childish.
