count me in ,Iike elephants and have been very close to them in Nature in Zimbabwe.
In fact i almost walked into one ,he was standing so still hidden by the bush,but he just looked at me .
they have kind eyes and are very inteligent ,
Did you know they have a funeral if one dies ,they all walk past and touch the dead one with their trunks as if to say goodbye .
If one gets into trouble ,like being stuck in the mud ,they all come and help .
And all of the adults protect each others young ones ,as if they all are parents of all.
But dont get them mad ,or get between the guard and the herd ,they can kill a lion easily by throwing him up in to the air catch him on their tusks and then stamp all over him ,
but other smal animals they can step around very lightly.
I also had one chase us when we were in a small bus as tourist and if he had caught us he would have stamped the bus into a pancake i am sure ,
Beautiful usually gentle animals ,but naturally very destructive ,they can wipe out a farm .
to stop them you build a HA HA trench ,which is like a dry moat ,which they dont like to cross ,they cannot climb .and you stand on the other side saying Ha ha
.
their Natural function is to clear forest for new growth ,and some seeds like a bread fruit type tree cannot reproduce with out the E`phant ,they must eat it and the seed germinates in the manure .
no Elephants and this exotic fruit tree will cease to exist.
