Taking Spray Paint off Plastic?
I recently spray painted an old rotary phone plate with blue indoor/outdoor paint thinking the "more" meant it would be okay for plastic since the plastic designated paint didn't come in a color I wanted... The paint dripped and bubbled up in places and now I wish to take the paint off so I can purchase the right plastic paint for a more finished look...
Any ideas on how I can remove it without damaging the plastic casing?
Try pressing masking tape on the paint & see if the paint peels off. If not then you need a remover like safe strip or multi strip that won't attack the plastic. Methylene Chloride in regular strippers will soften the plastic. Once the paint is off, use Krylon Fusion spray as it's made for plastic. A few thin coats look better & dry faster than heavy coats.
